Gates Of Hell

I try to find the gates of hell
I search the landscapes really well
I search the woods, I search the streets
I search the ocean and the fields.

I try to find the gates of hell
The demons, spirits and the spell
For opening the door, the way
A boat, a plane, a car, a sleigh.

I try to find the gates at night
In deepest darkness and in light
I search and search but never find
Not far away not within sight.

What if the gates are just a lie
No Satan there, no angels in the sky
What if there is no God above
No heaven and no godly love?

Is there just us or could it be
That something else around is free
To judge the soul not after death
But every day with every breath.

I tried to find the gates of hell
I was just curious when I fell
Over a root, the tree was vast
Connected sky and heaven and future and past.

The tree connected everything
All movements, thoughts, the poor, the king
With power, beauty and with might
I found the gates and they were light.

Thoughts

I wish that butterflies would travel south like the birds. I imagine clouds of butterflies painting the sky in earthly and bright colors.

Two Ravens

Two ravens are watching
Too curious to fly
On my neighbors rooftop crowing
Black shapes against the foggy, creamy sky
